Lavrentis Macheritsas – Nikos Portokaloglou
“What’s left from the fire” unplugged

This is an event we suggest to all our guests.
This is because it is uniquely beautiful to be at the amphitheater of Kalamatas Castle. And not understanding Greek won’t bother you in this event, as most of it is in the international language of music 🙂

Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th August
Amphitheater of the Castle of Kalamata
Start time: 21.30

Two songwriters with parallel tracks for almost four decades, Lavrentis Macheritsas and Nikos Portokaloglou, met in the passt winter for the first time on the scene of the Glass Musical Theater, depicting a triumphant series of performances from November to Easter.

This show, titled “What’s Left Out of the Fire”, was both an account and a celebration, a tribute to their varied influences and a reflection on the great moments of their journey.

It has been enriched with the participation of many distinguished guests, songwriters and performers and has earned the title of the shape of the year.

Both of them starting in the early 1980s, Nikos Portokaloglou and Lavrentis Macheritsas left their mark in the decade with their two historical bands, Fatme and Termite, which had a huge impact on the next generations.

Since the 1990s – they are now on their own – until nowadays they have never ceased to be anxious and creative at both records and concerts and have collaborated with a wide range of older and younger artists.

Farewell to this magical winter, Lavrentis Machheritsas and Nikos Portokaloglou will also present a special unplugged program on 7 & 8 August at the Kalamata Castle Amphitheater, in addition to their long tour in theaters and fields.

Lavrentis and Nikos with their acoustic guitars, accompanied by four musicians, come alive with the acoustic versions of their electronic songs, creating a unique, affectionate summer atmosphere.

Also with them:

Steve Tesser guitar, song
Byron Tsourapi bass, mandolin, harmonica, song
Elias Lambropoulos violin, trumpet, clarinet, bouzouki, song
Akis Abrazis bass, percussion
The sound has been edited by George Karagiannidis
