Actors Giorgos Galitis and Thanassis Kourlampas unfold their entire acting range on stage, both comically and dramatically, embodying all the roles of the novel, in a theatrical play which, in opposition to the title, pulsates with Life.
Tolstoy, through this work, undertakes a pilgrimage to Death, realizing in depth the importance of the memory of Death. That is, to remember that man is mortal, that the time will come when he will die. And then, the only thing that will stand in front of him, will be HOW he lived.
This thought is anything but sad if man manages to live “as man should live”.
