In the very old years, Kalamata used to have a tram, in the very old day one that was pulled by a horse.

These days are long gone, and like most cities, Kalamata has a city bus system.
This consists of two major lines, one connecting the city centre with the east beach and the other the city centre with the technical university at the north-west of Kalamata.
One can buy a ticket at the kiosks for 1.20€ or in the bus by the driver for 1.30€
