Nicely done museum in which you will see exhibits discovered in the area of the prefecture of Messinia. They reach from the prehistoric up to the byzantine period.
The building in which the museum is, used to be the market place of Kalamata up to the early 80s, where farmer peasants would display their products on clothes on the floor. One can hardly imagine this when walking through the halls now.
I recommend visiting this museum not only on a rainy day but also on a hot summer day …. you will cherish the air conditioning which in this case is mandatory due to the exhibits 😉
